Hey all,

looking at definetly getting some clip-on aerobars for the coming season because I believe it has 3 if not more time trials in the "cup series" as well as a weekly club TT. I'm wondering what the "rule" is for having aerobars on your bike otherwise, say during the weekly club race, not use them just leave them on, (I'd take em off for cup races), I'm just wondering if I'll have to take them on and off constantly pretty much. Thanks for any help.

hey kris, there are riders who do ride those tuesday nighters with them on (probably shouldn't but no one has ever mentioned it because of lots of triathletes in the club), you should take them off for Sask races unless it is a timetrial. Taking off your aero bars is kind of a pain but they are just clip ons and if you work at a bike shop should be no problem. After some racing though you'll spend an hour of bike work because you'll change gear so much, eventually realizing you need a TT bike to save time in races and in training etc. (One guy from RCC has a "$22,000" Pinerello Mont__ (sp?), with Corma wheels)

Take 'em off unless you're TT'ing or training for a TT.

Unless you like having the other guys drop you because you're being sketchy ;) Not that I'd advocate that or anything...

I'm not planning on actually using them, just if I'm not into the hassle of taking them on and off and on and off and on and off if it's ok to ride with them on just sitting there. However I think I'll just end up removing them after every TT or TT training in the end like C'Dale kid said. I hope to afford a TT set up this year that is < $250, I figure TT bar, aero helmet, and maybe an extra post and saddle so I can just swap posts to change angles rather than mess around with it every time. Profile Designs has some neat looking stuff it would seem
