Is this a cover over that or what... is it a separate component.. or do you have to buy the whole crank arm to get that protection.

I think that would be good for all the shinnies and stuff like that I ride... you know the times you don't quite make it up that rock or tree... and hear that  ::Scraaaap:::eek: sound.

What is the price on something like that.

Big red X...I wonder if bikeforums is having issues with picture storage...this is one of many issues with pretty red x's...

Are you talking about the compression cap on the crank to hold it on the splined bb?

Your pic doesn't seem to be working. Try again?

Hey Wait, I just posted a response over in the "What does everyone ride" thread.

But here is the actual one I was talking about:
Evil Bash Ring (http://evilbikes2001-store.site.yahoo.net/supbaseascoa.html)

That is a sweet ring and pretty cheap too...I also like FSA xdrive one. Has teeth for more grip :)

And no you can buy them seperate and they are very easy to put on.

Bash gaurd...bash ring...it is a seperate piece that can be removed and replaced...if you wanted to could even remove it to put a large chainring there.

So with that on I am limited to only two chain rings? That's kind of a bummer if that is the case. I like to be quite versatile in my shifting when it comes to various terrains.

Yes, you have to remove your large chainring. I've thought about it myself though. Very rarely use the large.

There is a company that does make one that bolts to the outside of the third, but it won't take any significants hits. It'll only keep the chainring from mashing a tooth. More likely, it'll damage the spider first.

Can't remember the name, but if I find it, I'll post it here!

I never use my large anymore unless on the road and I never use my small...I am considering dumping the defaileur and moving to a high speed bashing machine :)

Maybe a few years ago...but when people start riding on them over obstacles it was renamed.
