I recently got a pair of aerobars and have been using htem for about 2 weeks now. The question is, how wide should they be? I have them probably 8-10 inches apart. I was in my LBS today and noticed that some of the one piece aerobars are more central and would require you to really angle your arms in? any thoughts or know some website that would help?

Do you use aerobars for aerodynamics or comfort. If you close the gap between your arms, your aerodynamic efficiency will be much higher, since air will be deflected around your body. If you can control the bike in this position, and feel confident, then it will be faster.
There may be some UCI regulations on aerobars, they seem to regulate most things, but that is for UCI time trialling only.

TriDevil: It's really a matter of personal preference. As MichaelW pointed out the closer the bars are towards the stem the more aeor you'll be. Since you've been using them for a couple of weeks now try moving each one in 1/2 an inch and see of it feels. Eventually you'll reach a point where it's either not comfortable for you or you don't have as good of control on the bike as you'd like. Once you reach that point move the bars back out to the previous position and you will have found the best position for you.
BTW, which bars did you get?

Im using them for aerodynamics, Ive done a triathlon and am going to do more so I dont think the UCI regulations are a problem for me. zackjones, I picked up some profile design jammer gt. They are the lowest priced I think but what a difference! So closer together as long as I can keep control is the idea? Thanks everyone
