Mountain Biking - An awesome weekend ride!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Whew. I thought that I might share with everyone how good this weekends ride was. We couldn't hit the offroad trails because they were way too muddy (proper trail edicate). We wound up planning 2-days of fun-filled Urban.
I took a few drops that I was a bit sketch on before, and my bro actually shocked the hell outta me and took this super-sketchy line across a rock drop.
It was a blast. 70 Degrees and SUNNY. Wow.
I've got more pictures at: www.kc-freeriders.cjb.net
Make sure to look @ those. We'll have VIDEO of it all soon.
Here's a quick preview.... (pics).

And my bro taking the rock drop! (it's not huge, but hey! he's 14, and just did it out of the blue!).
Please excuse the crappy photo quality... these were taken OUT of the movie as a frame...
(higher quality shots are on my site).

hey matt,
sweet photos and nice web site!
i'm an XC rider, but i love riding technical obstacles and am trying to learn more free-ride stuff --- still not totally comfortable doing big wheelie drops. unfortunately here in Europe i am the only "crazy" rider i have found so far --- well, i have occaisonally seen some "downhill" riders all with 150mm of travel front and rear - but they pretty much just hang out in the bike parks and i've never ridden with any... much better to learn (and crash) with friends...
unfortunately i have bent my rear shock spacers for the 2nd time in 6 months - i have a '02 Specialized FSR Comp (80mm front, 40mm or so rear) so it's more light-weight than heavy-duty set-up.

And I thought you only did thoughs little home made jumps in the street.:p
Nice pics. That one off the rock is sweet. I guess you have to step it up now since your brother did it. Take the line about 5' to the right.:D

Thanks for the compliments fella's.

It was definitely a *blast*. I woulda' loved to get some XC pictures, and video, but the trails were SOOO nasty from rain. I didn't want my friend to lug his expensive camera back in the woods, sloshing through mud-pies... just for a few seconds of film.
I'll attempt to find a video host for when we get the video online. It looks a *lot* clearer than these photos are.
Thanks for the compliments on my site. I apologize if it loaded real slow. (I'm spoiled with cable...:p ). I'm trying to find a "software" which'll allow me to *quickly* upload photos and make them "thumbnails" and then turn into big photos when you click them. (like the system that www.mtbkanata.com has).
Anyways, I'll have more pics to come. Thanks for the kind words guys!

Those pics look pretty good for being stills from a video. I think I'm with Vegas regarding xc :D
Is your brother a member here and if so, by what name?

Hey everyone, I'm Matt's brother. When my leg feels better, I'm going back to that wall and going to go over toward the big end. I was working my way over, but I crashed, so that didn't happen.

Wow...14 years old gromme kicking ass...congrats on the big air you should be ready to enter RaceFace freeride comp next year :)
Nice pics. I hit some urban stuff this weekend too. Some stair gaps and dropoffs on the local campus. It's the PERFECT setting for technical urban freeride stuff. I rode some trails sunday, and urban saturday.. I'm pretty damn sore :o

That's where it's at Jim!
I wish the trails here were rideable right now. It figures... it either rains when I'm NOT working.... or it's sunny when I AM working.... so it really sucks. lol.
If it rains again this week, we'll just plan another urban ride... cept we'll go downtown.
