I am about to buy a heart rate monitor and have it narrowed down to two models and need some advice.
I am looking at the polar f6 and the polar s120. Any preferance?

What are you looking to use is for? or more specifically.... Do you cross train? Do you use a computer for your training data? What are your training goals? Other preferences?

I am looking to use it on training rides. I dont do any real cross training and do not down load data to the computer. The real diffrence i see betwen the two HRMs is the F6 is coded and I dont think the s120 is.

If that's the only difference, I'd go for the F6, especially if you're ever going to ride with/near other people.

F6 counts calories. S120 does not.

F6 estimates calories. S120 does not.

Yeah, go with the F6. Sure you the calorie option on any HRM is never totally accurate...it is better than nothing.

I just got a F6 for Xmas and am very happy with it. I use it for cross-training myself (skiing, running, biking,...) and have had no problems with it.
