I was having alot of trouble with back pain between my shoulder blades while riding & after riding . I used to run a 130mm reach stem with a -17 degree rise, but switched to a 100mm reach with a 90degree angle. GUESS WHAT NO MORE PAIN! I was a liitle to far stretched out on the bike and now I am way more comfortable.

I thought this might be good info for someone who is having some back pain to try different stem lengths.

I've been thinking of trying a shorter stem for the same reason. I just did my 1st 50 mile ride of the season yesterday and noticed a little back strain late in the ride.
Thanks for the tip. I'll post after I've tried it (though it won't be for a few weeks).
HB level or slightly lower than the saddle helps too.

I've been tweaking my position on the bike lately, but mainly dealing with saddle position. I found out that my saddle was about 3 cm too high, which was a lot. I'm definately more comfortable, but I'm going to actually try a longer stem when I get a new fork in a month or two. I might end up going shorter, but I'm gonna try a 130 and see how it feels.

Little changes can make a big difference. What type of stem are you planning on changing to? There are some really nice looking ones out there for good prices on e-bay!
