I finally found the word I was looking for to describe those of us (including me many years ago) who are physically inactive and devoid of the experience of daily sweat.

"Soft."

I'm no historian, but when I look at today's US society and think of what I've heard about the last days of the Roman Empire, I get shivers.

It's not just the U.S. It's going the same way here in Australia too. For some reason, we seem to blindly follow whatever the US does, right or wrong.

It's called "globalization," and I'm sure our government is very happy to hear that Australia is being led in the paths of righteousness.

I agree on that one. New Zealand is one of my planned destinations for a cycle tour at some point in the future (when/if I ever get money).

Funny about that, Chris, because when I was there (Australia) in the mid '70's, the teenagers (my age at the time) seemed to echo the views of their parents: America was full of things Australians wanted to avoid! ;)

America is a picture of the crossroads: good and bad possiblities.

I am no cynic. I am a realist (I hope.) I think America has the possibility to further mankinds dreams, or bring them lower.

Then again, every nation has that option, if they will seize it. ;)

Rant just beginning.

You mean it takes money to live in Australia? Sh*t, I knew there had to be a catch somewhere.

Believe it or not, they still say that! However, apart from gun laws, Australia still tends to follow what America generally does whether it's right or wrong. It's scary because they say one thing and do another. They don't have the guts to show their real intentions!

This rant could be a biggie.... The biggest problem.....Is that governments are out of control.....Including the US government. Its actually been out of control since the 40's and 50's.It all started with the Supreme court and morality being seperated from religion

just to get this rant lighted and cookin' with gas...
