Are you looking forward to Bill Parcells return next season, or do you hope he quits?

He is about 20 years past doing anything worthwhile.

They need to hire a young gun IMHO. Maybe they should go after Gruden. I think he's a ******, but he's got charisma and Jerry would just rub that all over himself.

Parcells and Coughlin should both retire. Gibbs should retire too and teach them both manners.

I'd love to see Holmgren retire also, and then have Cowher whip both him and Art Shell into shape. Reid should show up too, but I'd let him keep his job.

he signed a year extension earlier in the season -- he's coming back whether you want him or not...

Signing a contract means nothing in the NFL.

I think a couch with a cowboy motif slip-cover would be horrid.

I think the coach takes undue strife for bad plays made by players. Romo has turned out to be the quarterback they needed to get to the playoffs. Parcell's did not want Bledsoe nor did he want TO. so you can't blame their sad play on the coach alone. Also, you can't blame Romo's mishandling of the snap on Parcells... If he handles the ball the Cowboy's win and everyone would be praising Parcells and thye Cowboys.

They aren't world champ caliber yet but they are still a relatively new team trying to put the pieces together. It takes time. But they did make the playoffs and improved a lot over last year.

With more games under Romo's belt he'll improve. He's not there yet but he's made enough improvement to show he's their QB of the future and not Bledsoe.

As for TO... he's like Moss. Too full of himself and has no heart. It doesn't matter where he lands, he'll stir the poop and cause trouble. Unless he learns to play as a Team he'll only hurt the Cowboys.

So all things considered, Parcells is doing well with what he has.

Like my Niners, there is a history of success. So, like the Niners of the 80's, the Cowboys of the 70's and 90's have all you fans spoiled and expect them to be in the running every year. But in reality you have to face the truth that you are not there yet. So give it a couple more years before cutting off the head of the horse.

Plus, you have Jones as the Owner and that's already a mark against you. He ran off the best coach after Landry you guys ever had, Jimmy Johnson.

+1, Gee3.

Besides Landry and Johnson, there hasn't been a great coach for my Cowboys in a long time.

You made some very good points, about TO and Romo. I dont think TO "fits" any team as he's an "I" player, not a "Team" player. Romo may be the next great QB, but it won't come to him or the team instantaneously. Give 'em a few years and they will be back on the top again.

Johnson was effective because he somehow knew how to relate to and motivate the thugtastic players that were coming out of Florida colleges (mostly without degrees) in the late 80's. He'd be as much a fish out of water now as Erickson would be.

Parcells does have his pot belly and girlie-man arms though. :D

If Bush wasn't such a homer, he would've listed the Dallas Cowboys as the fourth member of the Axis of Evil in the World.

Interesting factoid: Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi were the coordinators (or whatever the position was called then) for the NY Giants for several years in the 1950's. I bet that was a barrel-o'-laughs locker room.
