Could someone help me out on what model this is?
I’m quite sure it’s from 1980 (the serial number begins with B0). According to the seller it has been standing in a garage since 1983 so most of the components are probably original. However it’s a 12-speed, while I suppose original PX10’s were 10-speed?

It’s labelled ‘Super Competition’ on the top tube and has a Reynolds 531 frameset, Simplex derailleurs, Stronglight crankset, Weinmann brakes and Maillard hubs.
Looking at the PX10 history website
http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/bicycles/Peugeot/PX10_history.htm (http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/bicycles/Peugeot/PX10_history.htm)
this makes me think it’s a 1980 PX 10S.

But when I turned to the Dutch catalogue website

I found that it is also very similar to a model called PVN 10, which is also labelled ‘Super Competition’. Has someone heard about this model?

By the way, the bike is too good and beautiful to be kept in a garage. I use it as a nice weather commuter and it’s perfect!

Based on the brakes and quick release skewers it would appear to be a PV10 as opposed to a PX10. However, the only way to be sure is to ask/check if it states "3 tubes renforces" on the Reynolds frame decal. If so, it's a PV10. If the decal states " tubes renforces forreaux de fourche et arrieres" then it is a PX10 or PY10. A PX10 will have the 531 designation in green while a PY10 will have it in red.

Normally, the first digit in the serial number indicates the year of manufacture, but we have seen plenty of exceptions to this. It does appear to be circa 1980/1981. Given the era, 12 speeds would be correct.

I believe the "Super Competition" models were PX10's. Actually many of these around 1979-80 were sold as "CFX-10", frame only. Then the LBS or customer would put whateve components on the bike they wanted/felt like. I have one, labeled "Super Competition", with a complete Galli groupo on it!

Thanks! The Reynolds frame label says "tubes renforces forreaux de fourche et arrieres", with 531 in green.
I suppose this points towards a PX10.

I have a PVN10 Super Competition... Reynolds 531 except rear triangle.
