Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Someone at work is selling one of these for $100. Says it hasn't been ridden much in the last 13 years, has Mavic rims and Campy components. Color is "Electric Rose", which kinda worries me, but other than that, could this be built into a decent commuter? Anyone know a good site for vintage Bianchi info?

I know there are certain people who covet the electric rose. Someone on this forum in fact though I forget who, I think the colour is great, why wouldn't it make a decent commuter? depend on whether you want racks and fenders I guess.
The Bianchi Trofeo wasn't a top-of-the-line bike, but it wasn't anywhere near the lowest end for Bianchi, either. It's still a very good and capable bike if it's in good condition. My thoughts are that it's well worth the $100 price tag. But, as cyclotoine said, if you want for it to be a commuter bike, it won't have the braze-ons necessary for mounting racks and fenders. I believe the bike was originally introduced as a racing and triathlon bike. And hey......I almost bought a 1984 Campione with that color, but I settled for Celeste because the other wasn't in stock at the time. I hope this helps.
