Hi there, I was searching for information on my older Meile and came across this forum. It's a great place for information both for the newer and older vintage bikes. I have a 1988 or so Black Meile Doral with the Exage Sport group. It's a great bike and is in perfect condition, in fact, I just recently replaced all of the cables and the chain over the weekend.
I have been looking at the newer bikes such as Trek and Specialized along with KHS, however, the prices are shocking when I compare it with what I have. The big difference is the weight for sure, mine is about 24/25 lbs or so and I would imagine that the newer ones are closer to 15/16 lbs depending on frame type etc. The only other consideration is that my Meile is probably too big for me, it's a 58 cm frame from what I can determine and I am only 5' 8'' so I should probably have something in the 53 cm range.
That's it for Now
