Does anyone have any recommendations regarding Tri Saddles? I've been looking at the Selle San Marco Aspide Triathlon Gel, Selle San Marco Azoto Triathlon Gel, and the Profile Tri Stryke but like to get inputs good & bad from anyone out there on these or any other Tri Saddles.

ask 10 different people what saddle they like and you will get 15 different answers.

I am a Brooks (leather) guy all the way. I like to be able to move around on the saddle. Padding IMO (gel or otherwise) doesn't really do much for you (I am talking about me here) over the long haul. It (padding) feels nice when you first sit on it but then after awhile it is like it is was never there.

It is your sit bones that need to get used to riding long distances. A leather saddle breaks in like a pair of shoes in that area and allows your rear to breath as well.

Mike you use a Brooks on your tri bike? I was thinking of doing that but I was thinking I'd want padding in the nose area. So I went with the Profile Tri Stryke (haven't ridden it yet, bike still in pieces). You ever seen these - http://www.selleanatomica.com/ ?

I've personally found that I don't like alot of padding, and I do like a narrow nose.

I'm currently using a Fizik Arione (road version) with decent success. Although, there are still a couple of other saddles I'd like to try if the opportunity presents itself - Selle Italia SLR or SLR-XP, Specialized Toupe, Selle SMP Strike Evolution.

Other saddles I've tried that didn't work as well for me as the Arione are the Profile Design Tri-Stryke (way too wide in the nose), Fizik Arione Tri (just a little too much nose padding) and Selle Italia T-1 (just a little too wide in the nose).

As you can see, I don't make much comment on the rear of the saddles. I spend very little time there.

Fizik Arione. Best saddle for triathlon or road application.
