Training & Nutrition - Gatorade + soy powder = ???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm reading the Paleo Diet for Athletes by Cordain and Friel and they are big on the 4:1 carb to protein ratio for hydration during training rides and races over one hour and as a recovery drink immediately after exercise. Well, I have about two big tins of Gatorade sitting around from Sams and also a can of soy powder. Checked out the nutrition labels and calculated I could mix 1.5 scoops of Gatorade with 1 scoop of soy powder to get the magic 4:1 ratio! Put it in the blender with 32 oz of water and voila. Tasted like a lemon milkshake. Not bad. But let it sit in the fridge for awhile and the soy all sank to the bottom. Anyone else experiment with sports drinks with this ratio?

I make a recovery drink with Ultra Fuel and whey protein that comes out similar.

Yeah, that's basically what Accelerade is (well, they use whey instead of soy protein). Hammer's Perpetuem and Recoverite are similar, too.
It seems with any kind of carb + protein drinks (commercial or home made), you have to agitate it a lot to keep it mixed.
They recommend whey as well, just have the soy powder sitting around, might as well use it. The diet I was following was big on avoiding food allergies so cut out products with gluten which think whey has.
Well, I will just shake it up before drinking . . .
