I am car free, however I ride a superbike recreationally once a week .. My g/f has a car, and her own superbike, + many of my friends use my house as their oil-change garage...

I collect all of the containers and then pack them up in my 3 wheeler and haul them to the autoparts store (2 miles from my house) for recycling.

By recycle I assume you mean give to a local autoparts store so they can sell it as bunker'ish (http://daf.csulb.edu/offices/ppfm/facilitiesmanagement/recycling/tires_oil.html) fuel. ;)
At least Florida has decent weather, emissions probably aren't as bad as Long Beach. The worst part is that the poor (http://www.westcoastdiesel.org/files/sector-marine/MEPC%20Air%20Pollution%20from%20Shipping%20Emissions%20-%20Public%20Health%20and%20Community%20Impacts.doc) take the brunt of it, since they can't move out most of the time.

After which it likely gets sold, transported. filtered, and burned as bunker fuel. Releasing more carcinogens than if you were to drive everywhere instead of biking. :p ;)

Well is it still better than pouring oil down the drain? That's what they used to do with it.

Actually, it probably isn't. Provided it isn't a storm drain, and you're connected to the city sewer system, it'll probably get cleaned up by the city. But, they will get pissed, and can probably track you down. The most responsible option would be to filter it thoroughly, get a low speed diesel engine (or genset if you want to do something constructive with the energy), and burn it with the exhaust routed outside, only when it rains. The problem with bunker fuel is it dumps tons of soot, a significant portion of which is carcinogenic when inhaled, into the air, and it says there for a decent amount of time. If the fuel is burned when it's raining, all the crap gets knocked out of the air.
