Last two years, I've gotten back into racing a little bit. But didn't join a team. To a degree I think I was giving myself an out (i.e. no accountability to anyone else, so if I sucked, or didn't show it didn't matter).

Decided this year, if I was going to bother to put in the time and effort, really needed to get back on a team. So i just joined Velobrew.

Hey, any team with beer in the name can't be all bad right?

Cool :)

I've got an Open Road Bicycles bottle that I picked up at the NRC crit down there last year. It's a fun crit course, and the RR course ain't bad either. Except for not blocking off traffic before the finishing sprint (in the CAT-5 field, a SEMI got let through while the field was at the 800m mark). I was actually very suprised the race organizers were able to find any hills in Florida, but it was a nice rolling course.

I did both of those races. The crit was windy as hell. The crit course passes my office. The RR finish was a cluster f**k.

The RR course is part of the regular sunday training ride here.

Did you hang around for the Pro crit in the evening? It was pretty cool.

Yeah man, the Pro Crit was easily the best bike racing I saw (in person) all year. It was absolute carnage.

I really liked the wind in the CAT-5 crit, it broke up the field a lot (although not enough, I ended up coming in 6th because the group I was with thought we'd caught the break, when really we'd just passed lapped riders in the same kit as the winning break  )

Remember the guy who'd apparently crashed/puked his guts out at the same time? That was weird stuff :D

more or less did the same thing. the one catch for me is that my team is in the US, and most of my riding is over here. :)

haven't made a decison on which, if any, club i'll join here. i already have a group of training partners.

I rode with them in Jax over Christmas on their Sat morning ride. They are pretty danged fast riders, fastest I've ridden with in FL so far.

Fortunately, our rides tend to be flat enough, that slow guys like me can hang on the back.

Yeah, time and effort. That's it! That's the ticket!! It didn't have anything to do with the other team members or anything....
