Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Is EBAY good to sell my bike through?

I have a MTB I need to get rid of.
Someone told me they can put it on Ebay on consignment... whatever that means.
Anyone here have any experience with this?
Advice?
How much does Ebay charge?

The eBay charge is tiny.. maybe a buck or two just to list. Consignment means the place that is doing the selling for you will take a small commission. My question then is "why sell it on consignment when all you need to do it alone is a computer and an internet connection."? If it's a good bike it'll sell no problem. If it's junk you may have a hard time moving it.

If you have an ebay account and lots of good feedback and a digital camera, sell it your self.. If not, go the consignment route- they might take 10-20% of the final sale price.

I'm guessing for a $300 sale, the fees would probably be around $5 or so, and if you recieve payment trough paypal they take a cut (~5%) as well.

people are often apprehensive about buying from someone with low feedback.

I sell tons on eBay, and shipping is a total *****. I've
found that I get the same amount of money (or nearly
as much) just listening on Craigslist, and I don't have
to hassle with packing and shipping.

I have no Ebay account. Don't know anything about Ebay. The feedback issue would probably make it difficult. I've noticed that ebay items ship at ridiculous prices.

I really need to sell this MTB. It's got no more that 20-25 miles on it. Collecting dust.
