Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - sold out, or maybe bought in?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

so, i ended up selling my track bike and buying a carbon road bike. my riding style and goals have changed over time, and this is the best choice for me right now. i'm still going to put together a beater/training conversion whenever i get a chance, though. you may now banish me to the road forum immediately.

This forum is so consistently off topic that I don't think it's really going to be an issue.
i'm thinking of selling my carbon road bike & buying a new track bike... hmm...

I just bought a carbon bike too Jesse. I struggled with the idea (I like old stuff), but I was over the tetnus shots.
Seriously though, it's the 21st century. Shoot me if I like sub-14 pound fast bikes!

I am trying to sell my carbon roadie to buy a fixie. I have news for you...you will take a bath on a used CF bike/frame. The only offer I have so far was just silly...I wont sell it if I can't get what I want...it can sit in a box until my son is old enough...and that's going to be a few years.

yeah, used carbon is suspect. maybe not for any good reason, but it is.

Is it custom carbon?

Why not have both?

Is it custom carbon?
I don't think any true "full custom" carbon bike/frame exists for the average buyer. I've heard the cost to make a new mold for a single frame is prohibitively expensive to make a single frame unless you are are a sponsored rider like lance, etc...
www.aegisbicycles.com in Maine is pretty close to full custom carbon.

Does the Columbus mecano CF kit count as full custom? Its about as custom as a steel bike...

so is Parlee and Calfee. not exactly frames for the average buyer.
i don't see the point in selling a bike to get another. why not just hoard?

Pretty close. It does come in S, M, L sizes.
Is the whole mess just epoxied together? Sketch city.

Serotta Meivici...not exactly for the avg buyer at $7400 for the frame (not including the fork)...but full custom and full CF.

Cool, always nice to learn something new. Serotta claims that the meivici is "the first truly custom, full carbon fiber bicycle frame ever built".

Hell yeah...full custom carbon. Only one known to exist in the world. Pink/blue flip-flop paint. I'm stoked!
