I like riding in traffic. I like riding at night. I link riding at night, in traffic. I even ride on major freeway and near-freeway shoulders where legal. Sure, I have great lights, wear bright-reflective clothing, and follow most of HelmetHeads' rules and I have not gotten killed or even broken any bones. Yet riding near The Edge makes me feel a bit more alive then almost anything else I do. Is there anyone else out there who feels this way? And If you feel I am a flat out looney can you suggest a way to get that rush that you approve of?

I enjoy riding in traffic when drivers are considerate and I fit into the flow. Harrassment, intimidation, etc. ruin the good feelings.
I also enjoy riding fast on flat ground away from traffic.
The physical exersion and mental focus makes me feel good, not the feelings of being on an 'edge'

I love the traffic dance and I love downhills where I'm passing the traffic!

I don't like traffic, but I love a nice stretch of road without intersections, where I can rev up and go fast for a long time and get the adrenaline flowing. God, I love going fast. I'd rather go fast then leisurely.

I like riding in heavy traffic, especially in downtown areas. My favorites being Chicago and NYC. Few things are more exciting than riding at full speed and splitting lanes of traffic for blocks at a time while the traffic just sits there. Doing it at night is fun too, especially with other people to ride with. I am however still waiting for that car to not see me at night and turn/change lanes into me (I know it can happen during the day too, but I've had fewer close calls then), oh well, better than a bus running me over. Another fun one is when traffic breaks open a little but you're still going faster so you actually change lanes and pass the slower traffic like you're driving a car.

I'm not a fan of riding on freeways or their shoulders. Even if I have the right to ride there, I'd prefer to find another route, having traffic zip by at 55+MPH isn't my idea of a fun ride.

I love riding downtown and doing "car sprints" as we use to call them. A good mountian bike ride can really get the heart pumping as well.

I enjoy drafting buses and trucks on my commute. I even more enjoy the looks on drivers's faces when they see the maniac in the shirt and tie going 30mph in the center lane.

Sometimes I enjoy the rush of dangerous traffic, but mostly I'm the type who enjoys the feeling of accomplishment after climbing a mountain or completing a long ride.

i, also, don't like traffic when there is no sholder and volumn spikes. i loose apprehensiveness to task!

but:

i do enjoy extreems, like after technically moving through dense traffic patters, my favorite times are when i get that ZEN feeling, the body homeostasis is right (zone), when the traffic is light, i get a frendly beep from a car driver i see frequently, i see a cool view, etc. i like riding in the rain too, in a simular way. it feels good to have the correct rain gear on and even better when the sun comes out (and it will, sooner or later), a ying/yang sorta thing.

variety is a spice of life!
