Foo - What's with all the SPAM this morning?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Sure, we occasionally get spam here, but in the past hour, I've seen 2 blatant spam posts from members who registered probably today.
All the new computer owners from Christmas looking to make a quick buck at a "new" home business or something?

spammers are right down there with politicos, journalists, and bottomfeeders (lawyers)...
but the real problem stems from the idiots who buy stuff from spammers' ads...
if there was no profit there would be no spam...
so thank Joe Sixpack the next time you get some spam!
Joe recently upgraded the registration software which cut down about 90% of the spam in the forum over all. Most of it was coming from automated spam bots, and most would end up in the introduction forum. The ones that pop up now are most likely real people at a computer registering and then selecting areas to post into. Thus more posts end up in places other than the intro forum. Hopefully they aren't also trying to figure out a way around the registration changes to start the spam bots up again.

This is free enterprise at it's finest. The problem is, you know it won't take them too long, either.

I was loving opening up introduction topics and having spammers link to tons of porn sites.

Wife: Have you got anything without spam?
Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
Wife: I don't want ANY spam!
Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage?
Wife: THAT'S got spam in it!
Man: Hasn't got as much spam in it as spam egg sausage and spam, has it?
Vikings: Spam spam spam spam... (Crescendo through next few lines...)
Wife: Could you do the egg bacon spam and sausage without the spam then?
Waitress: Urgghh!
Wife: What do you mean 'Urgghh'? I don't like spam!
Vikings: Lovely spam! Wonderful spam!
Waitress: Shut up!

Waitress: Shut up!! Baked beans are off.
Man: Well could I have her spam instead of the baked beans then?

Vikings: (Singing elaborately...) Spam spam spam spam. Lovely spam! Wonderful spam! Spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam spa-a-a-a-a-am spam. Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam! Spam spam spam spam!
