I'm close to finishing my first FS build. I got a new Titus RacerX w/ 07 Fox frt fork, Mavic SLR's, Maguras, Sram XO, XTR cranks and frt derail., Specialized Toupe saddle, Ritchey WCS carbon post, and Ritchey WCS bars/stem.

All I have left to complete the build are new tires. I've been running the Mythos on my old hardtail because I could get them cheap at Performance. For the Titus, I'm going to start w/ standard UST's, but I'd like to get some opinions and recommendations.

I was thinking about the Specialized S-Works Fast-trak 2Bliss front and rear.

Do you guys/gals have any recommendations? I ride mostly loose and hard pack . Not much in the way of mud.

Thanks

Don't cheap yourself out by going for the specialized Sworks 2 Bliss tires, or with the Hutchinson Python Ultralites. You have mavic rims, think about a set of maxxis crossmark ust's or michelin tubeless xcr at's or The Kenda Dread Tread in the tubeless set up.

Ive used both of those tires you mentioned, Found the fastrac to have slightly better grip, and much better cornering. If you ride in mud, you might want something with beefier tread.

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm going to place an order for a set of the Maxxis Crossmarks and try them out.

Thanks again

If you are looking at Fasttraks then I'd say a better gripping tire that rolls faster and handles a wider range of condition is the Schwalbe Nobby Nic. I have the 2.1 UST version on my 2006 Racer X. The Schwalbe Racing Ralph is also very fast but needs dry conditions due to it's lower knobs.

I'll second the Michelin XCT All Terrain tires. They aren't the lightest or most narrow things, but they stick like glue and I love mine!
