Has anyone been on Interstate 35 in the Texas/Oklahoma region today? Any idea what the road surface is like?

Very treacherous...
You might be better off asking this in the regional forum.
Worse as you go North. Here in Dallas I haven't heard too many bad things about I35 yet, but the longer we go into the night the worse its going to get. (Probably a bit late huh?)
I-35 is a nightmare, even at 3am. Avoid it I say!! Especially during work mornings. I pass it from 635 sometimes when I go to school and it is always backed up for miles.

Just got home from a gig, and I was on I-35 for about 5 minutes, from Loop 12 to 635 in DFW. It wasn't bad at all, just a little wet. I was looking out for ice though, and only going about 50-55 mph. Pickups and cars were flying past me at least going 70 mph! Which wouldn't be an unreasonable speed normally, but in freezing rain conditions?

Not at all - trying to get my girlfriend safely from denton to OKC, probably tomorrow afternoon.
What I've seen in norman isn't too bad. slushy, but traffic is moving slow and there's not much of it. Just hope the road isn't a block of ice around ardmore.
Here in Austin, watch it... lots of wrecks on I-35. If you have to go through Austin, be extremely careful. Its normal rain, but a lot of people can't handle wet stuff and will happily wreck into something.

Here in OKC the roads around me are pretty slick and ice covered. However, I reckon that the Highways shouldn't be too bad. Although, the wet ice pellets are still falling and it is about 18 degrees out there.
