Hi does anyone know if shimano XT or LX hubs come in 28 hole drillings? I want these rims but their 28 hole and cant find any cheap/decent hubs to build them up with. Kings and Hugi hubs are too expensive for me. Thanks

I think this was asked recently...no shimano doesn't have a 28 hole hub. You will have to go with a higher quality hub company. hope maybe? :)

i wonder if you could get an undrilled hub bdoy from shimano and then bring it to a machine shop and have them drill it, although it probably not worth it for the quality of the hubs etc etc ect

I seriously doubt that Shimano would take on that liability.

Sun Ringle' makes a 28 hole hub.Sun of Bubba (http://www.ringle.com/ShowRoom/MTB/Components/sob.html)

Don't know of any specific retailer, but do a google.

Why not use a road hub like Ultegra. They are not so fragile. I would question the wisdom of a 28 spoke wheel. On the road, this is for time trials , not even regular racing.

Well, I bought a set of race wheels for my wife, the were DT/Hugi hubs. Very light. She used them a couple of times. I ended up getting her some Spinergys (because the matched her bike). An I ended up with them in the garage. I had an upcoming race, so I threw them on my bike. First time out, tacoed the rear. Relaced the hubs to some Velocity Aerohead Rims and promptly sold them for more than I had in em.
