Hello all!

I'm hoping for some good advice here and thought that many may have the information.

I'm 6'3" 190 having been off my bike for roughly 5 months due to a knee injury. I'm now clear to start basemiles and will likely be ramping up to full activity (intervals, weights) over the next 8 weeks. Last spring, prior to my first season of racing I was 165, I think that the low 170s is a good weight for me. Admittedly it's slightly underweight, but that's just my build...I guess you have to take my word for it.

Anyhow, I'm looking now for diet tracking software. I would ideally like something that will sync with PalmOS so I have access to entering data (as easlily as possible) on my Treo. I would also like some sort of desktop interface. It doesn't need fancy exercise logging, as I use SportTracks for that and have been very happy with it. I just need a large database of foods and the ability to record favorite meals. For example, I don't want to have to put in my breakfast (the same one every day) manually each time: separate oatmeal, milk, banana, etc. I'm looking for a reduction of about 400 kcal a day to move 20 lbs from feb1 to june1, roughly a pound a week, so some food budgeting functionality would be helpful.

Overall, I guess I just want to hear what software diet tracking software packages are out there and what people are using.

Thanks in advance!!!

-Lammy.

fitday.com, but no idea about the PalmOS. I thought those things went out of fashion awhile ago...

Just write what you had into the palm and copy it to fitday later on.

The palm LIVES! Actually, has been resurrected with the simplicity of the Treo, but that's another post.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not quite what I'm looking for though.

I use excel. It's simple, easy to do data entry, and there's nothing more flexible in terms of reporting options if you know some simple tricks.

I lookup the calorie values from this website: http://www.nutritiondata.com/

Once it's in the spreadsheet though, no need to look it up online again.

Last fall I made up my own Excel spreadsheet as well- once a meal is recorded you can just copy it over and over again. My boyfriend got me Life Form for x-mas as it tracks a lot more info. http://www.fitnesoft.com/
