I have a Starcraft box from a long time ago that I never even opened. When I get back home next week, I can look for it.

funny, i just reinstalled it. god i love that game. almost 10 years old, but still the best.
come to think of it, 1998 was a really good year for computer games. the two ridiculously influential games came out that year... Half-Life and Starcraft.

Speaking of good old games, anybody remember Age of Empires?
I am talking Rise of Rome or Conquerors expansion, not the new stuff :)

I still play it. The original warcrat too. I preferred the feel of warcraft originally.

Hahaha. Omg that game was awesome for it's time. And the sounds were ****ing amazing.
Clairibus. Goontetag. And the sounds of the Catapults and the legions bashing against buildings.
And the original intro movie, "An army might be nice..." High tempoo

I'm told they broke something, so nobody can login to wow because of that and a consequent patch that was supposed to fix something , probably related to some incompataibilty betwen it and older versions :p

MMORPG's aren't my style. I used to play Wc3 alot, then halo 2. Hopefully you realize how boring wow is before your brain melts.

Rise of ROme was one fantastic game for it's time. Remember the Uber cheats? E=mc2^trooper or whatever.
I am trying to install AOEII and the conquerors right now on my laptop, and my Conquerors disc is too scratched :(. I am going to get an illegal download I think, because I payed for it, so it's not really illegal.

I have been playing WoW since February of 2005. There have been stretches of time where I stopped playing due to it's addictive nature. I didn't play at all from August to December of this year so I could finish my Masters. With the damn expansion coming out, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to find a job right away...I'm going to become a gold farmer.

:roflmao:
Yeah, when I moved up here in fort worth my brothers and their respective wifes, for those that were married were addicted to the game. We even joked that it was WOW that tore apart the one who is in the process of having adivorce's marriage apart.
In a way it's kind of weird, but when taken into perspective it's not much more different then always reading, or always sewing/knitting, or always weaving baskets underwater, or always being on irc, etc.

Have you seen AOE III? I put it on this computer, and it could "just" barely run it - no super super cool graphics though. Hard to say how cool the graphics are.

That's the problem with good games these days. If they truly are good, you can never stop playing. I once played halo 2 for 48 hours straight. It's bad for your health, mmkay.
Been quite a while since I've done any serious gaming. Used to play a lot of Baldur's Gate for PC, Starcraft, AoE II, Warcraft III, and Diablo II. Now I play an ocaissional game of solitaire...BF takes up too much of my free time. :o

I have not. I tried Age of Mythology, and it was pretty dumb. That game was a disgrace for all that AOE II stood for.
