Hi,

I have a Rocky Mountain Instinct that came with a Rock Shox Sid Race 80mm fork. I have never loved that fork - its too flexible and the suspension action was never great no matter how much I tried to dial it in.

I want to replace it with a something that is plush, stiff and doesn't mess up my bike's geometry to much. I like the Fox Float forks, but they are 130-140mm which will screw up the bike's handling.

Any suggestions as to a fork that would be say 100mm and meet my needs?

Same boat, with the SID SL on my Rocky having 18,000km on it's carcass, I'm thinking Fox F100 or F80. Which flavour of these I am undecided.

Whatever's on sale perhaps.

I really like my Manitou R7 Super. It's very plush while being very light and stiff.

The Fox F80 or F100 look good. Will a 100mm fork screw up my handling if my bike came with a 80mm fork?

I am not interested in any Rock Shox products - just too many average to poor experiences for me to try them again.

Plush? Sounds like you want a Marzocchi.

Well my old Z3 bomber is probably the nicest fork I ever had. I would buy a coil/oil bomber again in a heartbeat, but I understand the new ones are air sprung aren't they?

Well, I know the more expensive of the two has one side which is coil and one side which is air.
