Foo - Inversion Table Anyone have a suggestion on which brand to purchase?

I'm having lower back pain.To help with this I'd like to purchase an Inversion Table.
Can anyone suggest a brand that 's in the under 200.00 range that is good?
Have you tried looking it up on Google??

Sure have. But haven't spent a lot of time on it.
I thought maybe someone here would have a good suggestion.
I noticed one review that said the cheaper ones don't lock out past 180 to allow full extension.
That's not something I'd be happy about.
Also, do you see a massage therapist??

No.I don't have many problems with my back so I feel it's not needed.Becides that happy ending thing would make me go broke
I kinda want the Inversion table as a preventative. But right now, as in this minute, my back is in pain.
I musta pinched the Sciatic Nerve I think they call it.Giving me hell since last Monday.
Hurts bad right above my right but cheek and sometimes higher.

A common injury for cyclists is something called Piriformis Syndrome. It's where a small muscle within your rear-end will spasm ever so slightly, and press against your sciatic nerve.
Most people who get it assume it's a back problem, since that's exactly what it feels like.
Google "piriformus syndrome" and add keywords like "cyclist" to find all sorts of information.

Bingo!
"Biomechanical Inefficiencies: The major biomechanical inefficiencies contributing to piriformis syndrome are faulty foot and body mechanics, gait disturbances and poor posture or sitting habits."
It's been hovering in the 30's and below around here. It's not normal for Oregon.Hard for me to do anything but stay inside as I hate the cold weather. All I did the weekend before I started having trouble was sit while on the computer and watch movies.
 Guess I shouldn't be such a lazy ass when it gets cold around here.

I had it for a few months last year. It's PAINFUL, as you might know. The best thing I did for it was to do self massage with a tennis ball against a wall and use my weight against it. It helps to really pay attention to the medical illustrations that show how the piriformus runs along your butt.
When I was in the most pain, I did take some powerful muscle relaxant drugs (FlexerilŽ). I have mixed feelings as to their effectiveness. They seemed to work at the expense of me being able to do nothing else for two weeks. One night I stood at the doorway of my bedroom, looking at someone 20 feet away in my kitchen who had broken in and woke me up. After 15 minutes of trying to figure out how to get to the kitchen to confront this person in my home, I realized it was a hallucination from the drugs. That was fun.
From what I remember about all the reading I did when I had the problem, when you are young, you can have piriformus problems from over use; but as you age, you can have problems from underuse.
What's an inversion table. Is it like a table that's flipped upside down?

Kinda.
It lets you hang upside down using your bodys weight to stretch your back out.

Comparing brands of inversion tables...doesn't gravity work the same regardless? I guess you could get stuck with one that's poorly built, but it doesn't seem like the sort of thing there would be a lot of expertise with on Bikeforums.

That's a good point.But ya never know.
There's some health nuts on here so I figured maybe someone would have an idea.
It works the same because of your body weight. But there are differences in quality of metals, welds, and construction used.

I was wondering the same thing...but I thought it was something for mathematics like a multiplication table...except it inverts numbers instead. Why would someone play hundreds of dollars for something like that?!

We have one like this in the gym at work. I use it often and like it. Solid connection at ankles and it will adjust to go past 180.
