Bicycle Mechanics - Can a SRAM Power Link be used w/ a campy chain?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I would like to be able to change the cassette on my bike without pushing in a new pin each time. Can a SRAM Power Link be used on a Campagnolo 10 speed chain?

The pin is a good fit and the campy10 chain measured 6.4mm and the sram 9speed link measured 6.5mm. It looks like it might work. For the price of the link you could stick one on there and give it a try. It might hang up on the cassette.
No it won't, it is two wide. Wipperman makes a powerlink that will work with Campy 10sp chain. IRD also makes one that will work, and there is the superlink III that works with the 10sp chain.

Kev, for what a link cost I would just get a superlink, but I just measured both with my own hands and they are really close. I had never checked before and assumed the campy was even more narrow than Shim. 9 but it doesn't seem to be.
If my memory serves me correctly teh Campy 10sp chain is 6.1mm, and the wipperman 10sp chain is actualy 6.2mm, a standard 9sp chain is 6.8mm wide.. and the superlinks can compensate a bit for width differences in chain.. I can just imagine putting a 9sp superlink in their, it will go through and fit then turnign the wheel and having it get stuck in the cassette.

i couldn't stand it and looked this up:
Campy 10 6.1mm
Campy 9 6.8mm
Shim 9 6.6mm
SRAM
PC-89R 6.7mm
PC-89R 6.2mm hollow
PC-99 6.9mm
PC-99 6.4mm hollow
And now Campy is saying you can push the pin back in (like old school) as they have problems with the permalink. We have two customers that have been doing this for a while with no problems.

Thanks,
I am going to look into the Wipperman. I could not find the IRD. The superlink III is not made for the 10 speed chain according to there site. I looked at reviews on MTBreview.com there were none on road bike review. Does anybody have experience with the Wipperman links?
Why bother to break the chain at all?
get a Pedro's chain keeper, hang the chain,
remove the wheel, change cassettes.
Am I missing something here?
(hey it could happen)

I want to change from an 11-23 to a 13-29 for mountain rides. And later a 12-25 for smaller mountain rides. I am looking toward the six gap century in Georgia this fall.
