Well its been dry enough, so last night was my first tuesday night ride this year.
All my riding has been on the road since last October, and I've not put in the saddle time I'd liked to!

Well, my leggs really feel stuffed now!! But at least this year they are not hurting, just stuffed.

What are your opinions? do you intentionally over hydrate afterwards to flush your legs? I tried this, but Im not really sure if it works or not.

umm...no not for riding. I used to do it for bodybuilding. For riding I stay very well hydrated during the ride so stuffing myself seems pointless ;D

Sorry I should have said...what is the point of overhydrating in an anerobic state. I meant to get some info but didn't make myself very clear. How water depleted do you muscles get anerobically if you keep yourself well hydrated throughout the ride?

Im not sure Mael, I am either a freak, I seem to be able to survive a Heartrate of 185 for two hours solid, with out much penalty. as in last year the Enduro races I enterd, that was the average Heartrate over two hours.
Usually Tuesday night rides are in the Don Valley, which is a lot of very short but darn near straight up climbing, that said I go anerobic post haste.
I prescribe to the "If you aint leaking, you aint drinking enough" therom. Or is that theroy? Whatever...
But this morning I realized that my leggs had that acidy feeling, quite strange...
Its raining, so today is a rest day... (you remember life in Ontario still dont you?)
My question is have you or anyone else found that they need to drink more water than that to flush the acid out? or Is even more Pre-Hydrating needed?

haha...yes I remember ontario (god those summers...I don't miss them at all but I do miss actual RAIN...real bonafide hurt your head RAIN...not this mist out here they call rain) I know a few people (online anyways and a couple of people I ride with) who can survive at that heartrate. Its impressive to say the least. My cardio level blows ass so I am jealous haha :)

To answer your question...no I think I drink a tonne of water and never go through that feeling. But I do seem to live with a constant ache in the muscles which sometimes take a couple of days to get rid of. But again I do drink a lot of water throughout the day and TONNES during a ride...
