OK so I've had these Ritchey Pro Logic pedals for at least 6 years now (red ones, came on my specialized stumpjumper m2 comp). I was riding today and i noticed it's getting harder to clip in and the pedals are looking kinda ragged and the clips on my shoes are getting kinda "dull".

Anyways I was wondering what the lifetime for clipless pedals such as mine are? I tend to ride as hard as >I< can, and I often clip in and out on technical trails and sometimes if i'm on a drop and not clipped in i'll clip in on the impact. This summer has a lot of bike upgrades instore and i'm hoping that i can fix the pedals or something so i don't have to add that to my list as well. Thanks

When was the last time you replaced the cleats? The pedals should be fine for years. I usually replace my cleats every season. Ironically, the more worn cleats are the harder they release. Sounds to me like you need to buy some new ones.

When my cleats wear out they get easier to release from. Maybe it's just the ATAC design tho.

SPD cleats stick when they wear out. All other cleats slowing stop engaging.
