has anyone else noticed how awesome kendas are? specifically kenda kontenders? they cost like 13 each or 26 for a pair but they last like they're an 90 dollar set

except you need a crowbar to get them on any decent set of rims.

try fixing a roadside flat with K's. say hello to lever snapola into your forehead.

Not sure if they ship them from China in heated containers or what.

i like my kenda's a lot. they've held up really well, but tempo is right, it's damn near impossible to get them on to a rim.

My bike came with Kendras and they seem to be doing just fine.

my opinion might no matter so much since i live down the hall from the op... but i have also had incredibly awesome results with kenda kontenders. they came with my fuji track wheelset (got on ebay for mad cheap...cause theyre mad cheap). i have had a 40dollar tire on and ripped through it. i cant seem to dent the kendas.

its definately the heat/pressure treatment on the plane ride from china.

i'm telling you they rule.

I had this happen to me two weeks ago while on my Fuji. They're a pain in the neck to take off. Don't get me wrong, i like riding on them but, when it comes to replacing them...its just a pain.

that's funny though, i can't remember having much trouble putting them on, we'll see the next time i get some new ones

for the price i don't think they can be beat

my rear wheel has a kenda on it. i've been riding it since june and it is holding up surprisingly nice.

Finally. I am convinced that the now discontinued kevlar belted kenda kontender lite tires were the best value tire on the market. I am on my second set after 3 years of brakeless urban riding with alot of skdding. They are very supple and very light (125g I think!), and they are very puncture resistant. I want to buy like ten extras but I can't find them anymore except for take offs from KHS track bikes.

i got kenda tires on the bike i just got. i have them on a fixie. you know if they can hold up all the skidding i do?

Bike tires are the most friggin' over-priced thing I've ever seen, right next to brake pads, so its no surprise that $13 Kenda's work just as well as $90 Vittorias.

Sorry man, there is no way a $13 kenda is going to roll as nicely as a vittoria corsa or a veloflex black @ $40-$50. I don't know about any $90 vittorias however. Try riding the rubinos, rubino pros, pro race 2's/3's and then veloflex. You'll notice a steady increase in ride quality, speed and price along with a good decrease in durability.

Note you can't really use price as a comparison benchmark, but it is a good indicator. There are expensively priced tires that totally don't deserve to cost that much.

Steve made you drink the Veloflex juice, I guess? different rubber feels different, but I balk at the profit margins being made on these things.
