Hi there, the name's Bernie and I'm a mountain biker from the Bay Area. Hopefully it doesn't rain this weekend :)

Welcome aboard, ooTToo! I'm a roadie from Cupertino. Sometimes I do fire roads and non-technical single track on my 'cross bike when I don't feel like dodging the cars.

San Jose! I'm kinda afraid to ride on the streets because of all the traffic, so I'd much rather ride in the parks and trails. :)

Mountain View has a nice park where I often go to. Any good trail recommendations?

ooTToo,

Check out the Fremont Older Open Space in Cupertino. Another nice ride would be to park at the Stevens Canyon Reservoir and head up Montebello Rd. Go through the gate and head up to Black Mtn. You can cut-over to the Stevens Canyon trail which takes you back to Stevens Canyon Rd and eventually back to you starting point.

If you live in South San Jose, try Los Alamitos Trail in Almaden Lake park.

You might want to try Santa Teresa Park, off Bernal Road in south SJ. ST Park has some technical portions, fire trails, etc., and it's not as crowded as other places. I use ST Park as a great training area for tougher rides like Skeggs.

Thank you all for the trail suggestions! I will try one of them each week! :)

Happy Trails!

San Mateo here. Welcome!

I enjoy the Santa Teresa course, as well as the Los Gatos trail.
