Hi everyone.

First off Ive started to notice MAJOR weight loss since Ive really cut back on the fast foods and running and biking a LOT. Especially since I never did ANYTHING before. anyways.. Ive also been taking the Omega 3-6-9 supp as well as cod liver oil supp both for my psoriasis and so far havnt noticed huge differences as of yet. My main question is today I had to pee like 5 or 6 times with a full bladder and not trying to be sick but the color of my urine was clear like water.... is that healthier? or worse? And I dont know where this need to pee so much has came about. Can losing weight cause frequent urinating?

Its just weird that this all started as soon as Ive been working out and taking these oils which ar every healthy in vitamins and such.

Any feedback would be great

Thanks,

Joe

joe...

i don't want to alarm you, but do you have any other symptoms? like frequent fatigue and weakness? if you are, or have been overweight, those symptoms, along with frequent urination and sudden dramatic weight loss, are the classic symptoms of type-2 diabetes. i strongly suggest that you go and see a doctor and have that possibility eliminated. even if you are not overweight, you might want to see a doctor anyway, latent autoimmune diabetes can appear in adults who are not overweight.

Are you also drinking more water as part of your healthy diet/exercise?This could be a cause. As your urine is diluted at least it means its not causing a dehydration problem. The only negative would be that you tend to lose water soluble vitimins this way but small frequent meals are a way to overcome this. Also if you are losing weight by restricting carbs and calories it is normal to initially lose water weight so that might be what is happening here.I don't think the oils will have much effect on this and the vitimins you mentioned are fat soluble so won't be lost in the urine.I suggest you drink plenty of water, eat small frequent meals and continue on.I drink alot of water(and water based shakes)and have to urinate frequently and it doesn't cause me any problems.

I drink about 100 oz. or more a day of water.. my urine is almost always clear... usually the darker yellow yer pee is, the more dehydrated you are... also, if you are taking any kind of B vitamins, your pee will be almost flourescent yellow... not sure if this glows under a black light or not :-)

I probably go pee about 8-10 times a day.. so for me 5-6 times wouldnt; be soo bad... but if you notice you are drinking the same amount of water daily, and are urinating much more frequently.. I'd definitely check with a doctor on that one

No im the last person that needs to see a doctor. I recently went through about 2 years straight of anxiety disorder related to thinking I had every health problem there is. I had every blood test done and many many others and Im healthy as a horse. I havnt been overweight and no if anything Im always awake. I never sleep enough...

It was only this past day Ive been peeing a lot more often and it all started when I started taking the omega 3-6-9 suppliment... I dont know why.

Im not going to take the cod liver and omega for about 3 days and see if I notice any changes... If I do I might talk to my doctor about taking them and see what he thinks...one thing is Ive been drinking a LOT more Pepsi as I bought a 24 of it this week. I usually dont drink POP that much.... could that be it?

Pepsi has caffeine which is a diuretic so that could be the culprit.

RWTD is right, fish oils and fatty vitamins should not be the culprit. However, since the over the counter supplement industr is poorly regulated, you may have gotten a batch that had more than the purported omega fatty acids. When I was a chemist, I used to do chemical anaylsis of many over the counter products. Over half contained less or more of the amount of drug they claimed to have as well as contaminants that had nothing to do with the labelling and even dangerous contaminants ie:lead, digitalis etc.

So you may want to make sure you are getting these supplements froma reputable source that provides quality control data on the products they make.

You are smart in seeing what a trial off these supplements will do. If you are not better, please see a doc. I've seen autoimmune diabetes, (Type 1) new onset in 30 year old marathon runners, bikers etc. who were given a clean bill of health 5 months ago.

cbhungry is right if you increased your pepsi intake it is likely the caffiene in the soft drink causing this which in this case can lead to dehydration if you don't replace the lost water. For this reason I suggest you try to replace all soft drinks, coffee, tea(small amount of green tea may be best if you have to) etc. with plain water to eliminate empty calories and dehydration. She is right also supplements can vary as to quality and that it is unlikely to be the problem in this but I guess better safe than sorry.
When you store carbs in the muscle you also draw in water. So as your carb storage levels fluctuate your weight can vary because of this by a few pounds. If you cut carb stores initially while dieting this water weight will be lost and many dieters confuse this initial water loss with fat loss. Also if you dehydrate yourself with diuertics such as caffiene you will lose water weight .
So it sounds like some of your weight loss might be water loss but if as great as you say you have probably started losing fat as well.Just keep at it and remember your weight will fluctuate some due to carb storage levels and water weight but the trend should be downward if you are consistant.

I drink a lot, I pee a lot. If you drink a lot, I think peeing a lot is not so much of a problem. What goes in have to come out. I finish a bottle of water every 45 minutes and after that, I'll have a visit to the toilet.

I have to strongly suggest you have another blood test. Thirst, accompanied with frequent urination, is a definte warning sign for diabetes. Those symptoms led to my diagnosis. Quick weight loss is another warning sign...

Hopefully I am chicken little and it's just the Pepsi...

Well it was only over one day and my bladder doe snot feel as full all the time today. Im going to stay off the pepsi for a couple days. I have noticed weight loss but not a drastic weight loss. Im never overtired i never life sleeping. Ive just been peeing more frequesnt then usual...thats about it. If I begin to notice other symptoms of diabetes Ill check but for now Im not going to worry about it because Ive gone through too much agony befor ein my past thinking I had every disease in the book. I think it has been from overdrinking pepsi and water weight loss. They say you lose more water before fat so that could be what it is.

Thanks for the input everyone I appreciate it.

Joe

Also Im only 20. I know you can get diabetes as early as childhood but it is more unlikely. I will keep an eye out though thanks guys.

Good Luck...

Joe, I agree with MV and legalice- get your blood glucose tested, right away. You don't have to go to a doctor, I think you can get it done at a drugstore. The sudden weight loss and peeing sound like diabetes. Also look for cramps in your legs and dry skin (from dehydration), constant thirst which never feels quenched, and a smell of alcohol on your breath. Obviously, no one wants to think they have diabetes, but if you do have it and get it taken care of right away, you'll be much better off.

Don't know about that, but it's probably super flammable. Keep away from open flames.

Another major warning sign for diabetes is major itching.....well you know where, if you know what I mean. The little jock rash beasties, like the sugar that you spill.

I know that in my case, the big factors were weight loss, and a metallic taste in my mouth.

yea im gonna make a doc app on monday just to see. I have been peeing a lot but i mean 4-5 times a day... i used to maybe 1-2 times a day so I dunno what a LOT is. I have a feeling that is has to do with the vitamind and oils Im taking. I know a lot of people cant make sense of that but I mean when I start pumpin new vitamins and fatty acids into my body mayube its making me not pee everything out at once. I have noticed its not LONG trip sbut short trips... also I have no itching and other symptoms I dont have luckily. I will find out though because I think becaus eim thinking baout it all the time its making me go more lol.

Ill let you all know. Thanks for all the advice.

I didn't know that about diabetes and itching, but maybe it's also due to the dry skin. As for the metallic taste in your mouth, that's from imbalanced electrolytes.

Good idea going to the doctor joe. I hope it's nothing serious, but it's always better to find out sooner whatever it is.Don't get all alarmed about diabetes, it may not be that at all, but it's good that you're getting it checked out.

haha... it's always like that. As soon as you call the dentist your toothache goes away! Listen, if something isn't right, have it checked out. So you pay a fee,it's better safe than sorry.
