meet at francis scott key park (on the georgetown side of the key bridge, on your right)
11 am sharp

we're gonna ride out to the old dominion brewery in ashburn, va. take the brewery tour at 2pm, get some food, and ride back. round trip should be about 50 miles, with bailouts onto the metro if you need em.

ride whatever human powered vehicle you like, we're not picky. hope you see you out!

Would like to join you, but I'm not allowed to ride until my broken collar bone heals. Another 6 - 8 weeks.

Has any one else heard the rumor that OD Brewery is going to be sold?

i have heard something along these lines. i believe what i heard was that they intend to keep making beer there, but want to sell the facility as it is only in use about 40 percent of the time. i'm not sure about the specifics though, and this is all third hand.

i will ask questions on the tour.

Buddy of mine is the manager of the brewery restaurant. Last March he and a partner were at the table to sign papers to buy the place but it fell through at the last minute literally. There was an article in the Post a few weeks ago about a new sale of the brewery to an unamed giant. Everyone involved knows its Anheuser Busch that is going to buy the place. Hopefully they keep it the same as it is today.

What kind of pace do you plan to ride? Do you plan to stay together as a group?

the pace will be relaxed and no one will be dropped. we have folks recovering from injuries, and folks who have never ridden this far before so it will not be fast paced. i might sprint up the hills though :)

i've allowed three hours to ride the 25 miles to the brewery, and am prepared to use as much of that time as we need. if you have any concerns i'm happy to address them either here or at the ride start, this ride is for fun!

that's a shame, i'm sure there will be changes. i hope they're minimal and above all that the beer festival stays intact.

The Annapolis Capital had an article a few days ago that said the Ram's Head was also in the running to purchase OD. They are local to Annapolis & Baltimore and also a microbrewer. I would favor them.

that's the spirit!

you all straight on key park?

if you're in georgetown looking across the key bridge (a.k.a. the car strangled spanner) it's immediately to your left on the bridge side of m street.

see you there!
