i ride trials, and yesterday, whilst doing a side hop up up a 2 foot wall, i just missed with my rear wheel, and my deore rear mech slamed into the top of the wall, breaking the top jock wheel and bending the mech. :crash:

anything i can do to stop this???

Sarcasm aside, there really isn't anything made that's worth mentioning. Cheap X-Mart bikes have a derailleur protector, but it's just a piece of cheap steel. It you took a hit like that, you'd mash the protector and the derailleur and potentially damage the dropout.

Price of Learing! Education aint cheap!

Best way to protect it is to keep using deore parts until you are used to skinnies. Then if you destroy something it is cheap to fix.

Yeah man... it's just Deore anyway! It's not like you need an XTR derailler for trials anyway.
