Hello everyone.

I'm new to the forums, but wanted to ask a question about an old bike that I have in my garage.

I currently have a ~1965 bicycle made by Murray. It says "Meteor Flite" on it's chaingaurd.

It has a really cool headlgith built into the frame up near the handlebars.

I am wondering if anyone knows any place that I could attempt to find a replacement light for this bike?? I've been checking Ebay to no avail. I haven't checked in a few days though, but I don't think I'm going to have much luck there.

I got this bike from my aunt. She is about 52 years old now, and seems to remeber getting it when she was about 12 or so...meaning she got it about 40 years ago. I would like to try to restore it a bit, but this headlight is probably going to be problematic.

I'm open to any suggestions.

There is another bicycle forums group located at www.thecabe.com that deals with balloon tire and middleweight bikes. Yours would be considered a middleweight.

Nope. With the exception of 3 bikes that have 3 speed Sturmey Archer hubs and perhaps a few with 2 speed kickback hubs, they are all single speed cruisers. The brands are all the department store stuff Roadmaster, Murray, J.C Higgins etc. One that is sort of interesting is a late 30's Elgin (yet another department store brand) ---

Its funny, but after moving some of these truly heavy bikes into the attic above my garage, I don't really think of a gaspipe 10 speed as all that heavy anymore. :D
