Does anyone have any experience with this bag? It looks like it is big enough to hold shoes, clothes, etc. for the commute to work. I think it may be a good option for my MTB without rack capability.

Thanks!

I have the Nelson, which is quite a bit smaller than the Super C. My Nelson will easily hold my commuting kit. I also use it for credit card tours of up to 5 days. Those bags can hold a lot!

I use the Super C with the quick release seat post bracket so I can swap it easy from bike to bike.

Its very big, but can seem strange when you stand on the pedals to yomp up a hill because of the weight of the bag swaying from side to side.

Very rugged, tho. takes a lot of punishment and has a plastic underside to make for easy clean of the mud and muck that might get past any guards/fenders

All Carradice products seem to be of very high quality. Before you buy the Super C don't overlook the Carradice SQR bags. If you have space on your seatpost for the mounting block these are a really good option. I have a SQR Slim because I wanted to be able to carry notebook and file-size items. The other models are just slightly narrower. Mounting and dismounting the back on the block takes literally two seconds yet is absolutely secure. I originally bought one because I wanted to be able to use them on my road bikes occasionally, and I didn't want to put racks on them. I have since put mounting blocks on three bikes.

I have one that I use with a Bagman saddle support. I've been quite happy with it, so far. The Bagman supports the bag and keeps it from dangling, etc.:

You might want to bring a typical day's work clothes and shoes with you when you shop for saddlebags. The Super C is pretty large (24 liters capacity, I think), but it doesn't hurt to test it out first. I found that it's too small to carry both my shoes AND my clothes, so I just keep a pair of shoes at work. But then again, I have freakishly big feet; your mileage may vary.

By the way -- although they don't mention it on their web site, Carradice does sell vegetarian-friendly straps for their bags (instead of the leather straps that come standard). You can have them made to order.

Thanks for the replies. I want to go with as small as I can get away with, so I'm thinking that I will probably try the Nelson and also keep a pair of shoes at work as philosoraptor suggested.

Thanks again!
