so until i get comfortable, i'm adding a front brake to my fixie.

I purchased some Cane Creek Crosstop inline levers and I'd like to use only them without the other brake levers at the end. Any suggestions on how to do this?

just run the cable through the lever like any other brake lever. the head might stick out a little bit, but it'll work fine.

You can only run the cable one way.

edit: well, actually you can run the cable going in the other direction depending on where you mount the lever.......either at the bar top near the stem or at the end of a bullhorn.

Okay, so there is nothing special I need to do with the end of the cable since it is not connected to the other level.

Thanks!

I've done this on my Steamroller. I drilled out the hole in the mount so the cable nub will seat the same way as when in a standard brake lever.

i'm running this right now. If you run the cable in the direction it was designed for it works flawlessly. Your cable end (the metal ball or cylinder) sticks out a bit but it works well.
As for running it in the opposite direction, it's probably doeable as well. I think you would remove the barrel adjuster??
