View Full Version : Search keeps logging me out!

I know there was a switch to a new server recently and ever since them certain pages on the site (like search) don't retain my login.
If I enter a search (it'll let me get to the search page) and hit "submit" it pops up a "not logged in" form. I fill it out and it says, "thanks for logging in" and presents me with my results. If (30 seconds later) I try another search, the same thing occurs.

Also, while the index pages for diff. forums have me as logged in, a thread's page has me as logged out. For example, when I just viewed my new post here, it showed me as logged out but I'm obviously logged in as I am now writing this post.

Hello,
Do you still get this? The filesystem was mounted as read only which has been fixed now.

yep, still getting it.
Are you sure it's a DB issue? It happens only after submitting a search and on thread pages (that it shows me as logged out). Perhaps it's something with what those pages are set to check?

Scott,
I may have figured it out. I use the browser "Opera". When I tried the site/search with IE 7, the problem was no longer there. So it's a browser issue. However, it WAS working in Opera previously, so I'm not sure what changed.

Clear your temp files and cookies. Also ensure you're not switching between bikeforums.net and www.bikeforums.net as that can cause login problems with vBulletin.

There was some more courrption on the phrase table. I've repaired this and the messages now show correctly.
"P&R" won't return any results as its under 5 characters. :)
