Road Cycling - I'm back to the road!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My Pinarello Surprise arrived last Saturday and I went for a short ride this morning. Since it's been 1 1/2 years without riding, I went for a short spinning routine without pushing too hard. Rode 18 miles, 55 minutes.
It's an amazing bike, solid and stiff, but very confortable. The Campy's Daytona group is simply amazing, shifting is smooth and very precise, brakes are really good too.
Last rode bike I had was a 99 Spz. Allez, full Ultegra. I think the Campy has a much more solid feel, while the Shimano feels plastic-ish, smooth too, but I like the Campagnolo much more.
The whole bike is awesome, I'm really excited about getting back on the rode again!

If 18 miles in 55 minutes is not pushing too hard, I'd hate to see you get angry!

Although I was alone for at least 13 miles (a guy joined me for the last 3 or 4 miles), I must say that it is a place we use to ride for quite a time and it's almost plain all the time and straight. In fact, also, the total lengh was actually 16,25 miles (I made a mistake when converting from km to miles).
Anyway, the feeling is awesome, tomorrow I'll try to push a little further:)

Thanks a lot fellows!
After spending 2 rides with this wonderful bike, this morning I went back to my SPZ Stumpjumper Pro to go for a short climb exercise. Wow! What a difference in my spining and power in legs I can already feel.
The Pinarello is simply wonderful. It's not the lightest bike in the world (I'd say around 19lbs), but it feels light and rolls so easily on the road.
The Campy Daytona, as I mentioned before, is superb. Again, not light as Chorus or Record, but works just as great. I dig Campagnolo groups lot more than Shimano in the road, I wish Shimano could make a road group with a more solid feel, like their own XTR.
Thanks again for the coments!
