I've got a bike setup with an older 8 speed double Shimano 600 group. The BB has developed some play, so I'm going to replace it.

Can anyone tell me what brands/models of bottom bracket will fit my 600 crankset? I haven't been able to find much info on 600 compatiblility.

Thanks!

Since it's a square taper BB, you first want to make sure that it isn't just a loose crank. If it is, there are chances that the seat is now ruined, and the crank is toast. Otherwise, I'd guess that a UN-72 is the closest thing to an old 600 (Ultegra) BB.

Phil wood BB should fit nicely. They make a very wide range of lengths so one should fit properly if you can find out the length of the existing one.

My fixed has a Phil BB and 600 cranks, works lovely.
As long as you know BB shell width, probably 68mm, maybe 73mm, and the spindle length you could get any square taper Shimano cartridge from a cheap un-50 up to a un-90 and most shops will have them in stock
The BB that is in it should still have the tag on it. you will see it when you screw it out.
