Introductions - Hello from Ohio (and other places...)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone,

Just joined up after spending some time lurking, trying to pick up info on my next bike purchase (a tri bike - after one sprint tri last summer on a borrowed bike, I've caught the bug and plan on doing a few of them in 07. Enough of them that my fat-tired daily rider hybrid ain't gonna hack it.) I found some good discussions going on and thought I'd stick around around and make myself comfortable. I've been riding bikes all my life, but am very much a novice on the technical/gear side; so I'll be listening more than speaking up, except for when I'm seeking advice on getting a good bike on my (very meager, student) budget.

I'm currently in grad school in small-town Ohio (and may be as long as I can stay outta the real world), and am originally from beautiful southern Connecticut...

Hello MHK76, don't be (too) afraid to ask questions. It is a good idea to search through the archives and check the stickies, though!

Welcome to BF!

yeah sure you're there for grad school. lol You're in a good area in Southern OH to be a road/tri rider. I make my trip to Athens every now and then(usually not with my bike though lol coughcoughhalloweencoughcough)
if you venture a into the hocking hills you will have some gorgeous rides. I don't know of many tri riders in the area, but I do know of a few roadies if you're looking for anybody to ride with.
