Anyone know of anyplace (other than EBay) selling the last generation of XTR brakes? I'd like to upgrade from my old school-ish XT and was hoping that the new XTR would make the last generation cheaper.

Why not check your area bike shops? 950-series XTR components are still readily available through most distributors.

Most of the internet sites I usually visit have leftovers of the older Shimano XTR's. I know Shimano was going to keep producing older style XTR components.

www.bikeroom.com has the older stuff. Even 8 spd stuff. Its a canadian site and I can't remember the american counterpart..

Mainly because I don't have a local shop.

you might try giving those sites a call. price point has more items in stock than what is listed on their website.

Most places are not dealing on old XTR parts as there is still a lot of demand for 950-series XTR. Might be tough to find a bargain, but good luck.

Yeah, waldo, that's the impression I'm under. Instead of dropping the price of 950 stuff, they just charge $80 a wheel for the new brakes. Good ol' Shimano.
