Southern California - Who's doing what ride this Saturday?!

I'll be doing a double Century this weekend....however that will be in my car!

My daughter and I are joining our YMCA Trailblazers group for Winter Camp in Palm Springs tomorrow and Sunday. No time to bike until Monday.

Oh, Lord. This means the pace will be picking up considerably once we hit Westlake! With you, Magicant and The Fixer riding, I'd better start stretching my quads tonight to turbo-charge! :p

Oh yeah, 9 girls and their dads sharing one condo. Well that's better than the last few years where we were in a one room cabin in Big Bear with one bathroom! ( and no snow to boot)

What time do you think you will be at Westlake and Portero ? I assume you will drop down Westlake from Mulholland ?hmmm... leaving at 7, getting to Calabasas by 8. I'd guess 11 or so. After a break at Calabasas, that's about 25 miles of a fair amount of climbing to Westlake.

Ok...Mark is getting over a cold and doesnt want to freeze first thing..so 7am is too early for us...
We will do a more civilized 9am...
Either La Tuna or Rose Bowl...prob 40-50 miles total....

It was well above 50 degrees when I stepped outside this morning at 7am. I'm thinking that it might not be so cold tomorrow (upper 60s as the high tomorrow).

Definitely....I did like that route up Santa Susanna and thru Simi...I would do that again...

Trying to get a group to do the Palmdale/Bouquet Canyon century that is listed for tomorrow. The weather looks perfect for a nice long ride, eh?

I may possibly see you guys along Mullholland somewhere. My plan is to start @ the Commons in Calabasas..Mulholland to Piuma...up Piuma, Down Stunt, back up Stunt and down Piuma.
Not a long ride (48-50 miles) but LOTS of climbing..I gotta do lots of climbing rides to prepare for the Mullholland Challenge....
I am still sick so we shall see how I do on this ride.

Sounds like a great climbing session. You did terrific last time we climbed Stunt so you shouldn't have any problems with Piuma. Watch out for the splattering of rocks that may have eroded from the winds and rain though. Stop at the overlook and you should be able to see all the islands out in the pacific since the winds have blown the smog out !

Hi All,

I'll be riding with my club, Lightning Velo, on Saturday (and Sunday). Roughly 42 miles through Long Beach, Seal Beach, and Huntington Beach. Hope to do 100K on Sunday -- health permitting.

BTW, I'll be at the ADT Event Center (velodrome) for the Track World Cup on Saturday night.

I'm doing a ride with the Riverside Bicycle Club. It's a three-club ride along with the Cycling Connection and the Redlands Water Bottle Transit Company (love that name). Start and end at Tom's Farms south of Corona and ride around Lake Elsinore. There's a stop at the airport on the south side of the lake, and lunch at the finish. It's reported to be 45 miles, but I want to put in a few extra miles so that I can ride my age (51) on my birthday.

p.s. Non members are welcome to ride too. Start is at 8:00 am.

Where else to spend a beautiful winter day than at 5000 ft. in the San Gabriel Mountains. We will be at the Shell Station at Foothill and the 2 by 9am, headed up. V.B.
