It is not the SUPER steep part, You are coming from Lynn rd, then though Hidden Valley...you will be on Potero though Hidden Valley...it is not bad at all...
This is right in my neck of the woods!!
Phew! Thank you, Karen. :o Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd sign up. I don't mean to "waa" like a baby, but three weeks of back to back centuries + and I'm not sure my legs could get up that road! I'll just eek up Latigo.

Sorry about the false alarm......
I was also looking at a map and got confused because there are Potrero, West Potrero, and East Potrero, all near Lynn Road and had no idea where the steep portion of Potrero came into play....:p
I'll just follow the group and keep quiet.....:D

Actually the backside of Portero is easier than all of Latigo :) Portero from Camarillo is steep but not all that long. Just a little torture.

See, now, I think the opposite. Latigo is so doable. It's long, yes, but there are dips in the elevation from time to time. I don't mind it so much. Of course, let's see how much I'm whining tomorrow at mile 80+ when we hit it! ;)

 Really, that won't be necessary. Just don't box me into the slopes on Latigo.

We had a good 8000 ft.day in the Mountains up to Crystal Lake today. Went a short way past C.L.[5500] but figured that was enough since we still had Little GMR to do. A good thing we did as somehow once we stopped climbing it got a little cold, duh. I had plenty of clothes though so the descent was fine. Got started up GMR and it spit a few drops but we never got any rain. Anytime I can steal a day in the High Mountains this time of year is a blessing. I'm never sure if conditions are ok until we get there and they change fast. There were about 10 others spread out on the climb, some pretty serious racer types ,but we held most of them off till the top. We must have had a pretty good head start. A great day.

Wow, Bob! Great ride, mister! I was so sure you'd have rain up there and am so glad you didn't! I got soaked, but I got my 100 in...:o However, now I have to sweet talk you back up that mountain. I don't think it will take much since you love to climb! :D
