Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - adding insult to injury

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
On my way home today I rode through a big fresh pile of dog sh*t.
I thought that with the help of a stick and some fallen leaves I had gotten it all off. However, when I brought the bike into the house, my dog pissed all over it.
Arrgh.
That is all.
oh my god. you made my day better.

At least you didn't come home to find your dog ate the contents of an unopened bag of Pup-eroni. By 9pm he was fogging up the house with his own brand of chemical warfare.

My dog had a nasty habit of peeing on anything in a park that people put down on the grass. This usually meant either a backpack, a jacket, or a small child. Oh boy...

"Had" ?
I can only imagine the unfortunate demise of this dog.

He is actually living in Dubai now with my parents, and he is NOT popular with the locals. It was hard enough keeping him away from Muslim people in Toronto, let alone an Arab state! 105 pounds of pure, hairy, lovable haraam and still going strong. People literally scatter when we walk him down the street. Its like hes Wyatt Earp or something.
I'd start drinking now.
A very good idea...have some Bullet set asside for just such an occasion.
Most amusing thing ever: Watching the whole harvard cycling team time-trial paceline through an expanse of cow manure. Leader wasn't watching, and ran the whole group right through it.
Pity the poor sucker mouth-breathing at that moment.

That's what you get for going to Harvard.
Go Bulldogs!*
*I only support Yale University because I'm working under the assumption that they will admit me to their school of music for my Ph.D. If that should not be the case, then Yale can burn for all I ****ing care. Rich jerkoffs, all of them.

Harvard cycling is a pretty serious group of riders, out of 5 collegiate cycling programs I've been around enough to talk about they're definitely the most hardcore. They've got a lot of people for a small college and being in New England, and they have a knack for taking women who have never been on a road bike before and making them into monster cyclists.

Yup. I don't compete with them, but tag along on some of the more relaxed training rides, and i can tell you: there are some amazingly fast/strong riders in that bunch. I had to learn to draft obsessively, or be stranded in the middle of nowhere, watching the group disappear off into the distance.
To make it topical: the coaches are strong advocates of low gear inch fixed riding for winter training, and i heard that a number of the harvard folk turned out for the track racing in NH last fall.
