After having my bike stuff in my bedroom (with most bikes and wheels etc. in a separate storage room), I've now moved it all into a vacant bedroom in the attic, with A-frame ceiling and windows and all. It's a very nice workspace and has been a pretty functional shop for building up and working on bikes. Not full-fledged, nor should it be for a graduate student.
My tools are spread out on the bed along with cables and housing, and I've got other tools and boxes of parts (organized by type) in a cupboard.

Mine is a 8'x40' Conex (shipping Container) unfortunately at the moment it is also being used for storage of the interior of one of my Airstreams that I am redoing. So work space is at a premium... I also have an overflow of beater bikes stored in the old chicken coop:(
