Hi people.

Yesterday I was out trying to set a new personal record, and I did it. I was decided to bicycle a metric century. 100 km that´s about 62,5 miles if I´m not wrong. The weather was poor, we had 8 degrees Celcius, about 46 degrees Fahrenheit if I´m not wrong. There was some pretty heavy rains which made me cold, I had to put on raincloths, that kind that not breath:( I had a strong headwind for about 50 percent of the distance, so I can say the weather conditions was not great.

I was going past Swedens largest beech, and I measured it and took some photos of it to put on my homepages upcomming treeguide that I´m working on. So I had a left side pannier with a lot of stuff like tools, camera and lens, sparetubes, measuretape (10 m), extra cloths, and a barbag with bananas and some cupcakes:p , maps, mobile phone, keys and my wallet. I also carried a pump of course.

The first 40 percent of the trip was decently flat, but the 60 percent was rather hilly. I finished with a 1,5 km (1 mile) of good climbing to get home. I was pretty tired when lying down in my bathtub. But very satisfied:D

Looking at my computer it says Distance: 108,08 km, Ridetime: 5:57:38, AVG speed: 18.13 km/h, Max speed: 46.6.

I´m sure most of you guys ride this distance often and that my time is on the slow side :p but I´m happy about it. This is the farthest I have ridden at the same occasion. Though it will take some time before I atempt beating this PR.

Thanks for reading this.

Anders

Oh come on, forget what we guys do. I don't do much anyway. You might look to the other members as inspirations but there will definitely be others looking to you as their inspiration. Be proud of what you've done. Look at the word personal record, it's totally personal, you against yourself and you against the clock. All I can say is well done, and do more!

Congratulations!!! Isn't it great when you accomplish personal goals?

I've screwed up and accomplished most of mine for the year already. I'm not sure if I set my goals too low or if I am peaking too early.

Anders. That distance. Those temps. That headwind. That time.

That adds up to an impressive ride. Well done, buddy!

Thanks everyone! I will probably go for it again, but under better conditions. And not tomorrow;)

Don't forget. You are entitled to boast about those rides so never leave home without your trumpet! Some pics would be much appreciated as well.

The only pic I can promis you from this trip is of my bike leaning against Sweden largest beech, but that´s not too bad is it;) ?

And a photo I took at a beautiful hillside with lots of wildwood windflowers/wood anemone. But I have to develop the film after finishing it and then scan and upload it. I want a digitalcamera!!!:)
