Foo - Forums were down, so i learned something.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Sometimes when bored i'll go out and try an learn a new 'puter skill. Yesterday when the forums were down I went and learned how to "capture" or "unplug" YouTube videos. By doing this you can edit, burn, copy etc. these videos.
Here is the guide if you are interested and don't know how. http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?p=498342#post498342

Interesting. Too bad I don't have unlimited hard drive capacity. . . .
Hard drives are getting cheap and you can get a HECK of a lot of space for little coin now days. Certainly not unlimited but a LOT of space.
While the forums were down I decided to do something with my life. But now that bf is back, I can forget about all that crap.

Nice, I've been sorta looking for a way to download these things...That's a really complicated procedure to download the FLV file then convert it. Use this programme: vDownloader (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Download-Managers/VDownloader.shtml) and all you have to do is copy & paste the URL of the YouTube/Google video and it automatically downloads and saves as an AVI file in a single step.
Here's a site that lets you extract and download the original FLV/AVI files from streaming websites: http://keepvid.com

I got my ledgers balanced back over the past two months while Foo was down.
But I made up for lack of Foo time yesterday by staying up on Foo all night last night!

250GB IDE Hard drive: $75-$80
USB2 External enclosure: $20-30
Voila. A lot of freaking storage (portable between computers, don't even need tools to "install" it) for about $100.

Yeah. That was a harsh 4 hours. I had to go learn something to fill the gap, too. I learned that helium fusion in a red giant fuses 2 He(4) into Be(8), which then can decay back into He(2), unless a third Helium happens to wander in, in which case you end up with stable C(12) via the triple-alpha process. Further alpha-reactions with the stable carbon may then yield O(16) and Ne(20).
Thank God for type 1a supernovae or all these fun elements would just be left sitting in slowly cooling white dwarfs instead of begetting life.
And, believe it or not, it's on youtube. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KZ-BIJeY_vQ&mode=related&search=)
