My last final for the year was yesterday. The sun FINALLY came out in Portland yesterday. I spent the day getting settled for summer (just gonna stay on campus and work), and today seemed like an awesome day for a bike ride. Lo and behold! When I went to take my bike outside, I noticed the rear brake rubbing. Ok, I thought. Quick adjustment.
Unfortunately, it was a little pin on the sleeve that goes around the brake mount post to keep that part from rotating, thereby keeping tension on the spring. It has sheered off, I guess when I loaned it to a friend for a little ride
Guess I'll have to pay the LBS a visit.

Bummer. sorry to hear about the hinge in your riding. Hopefully it is a quick and cheap fix :)

Sun in Portland is a rare commodity. Sorry you weren't able to enjoy it

Between three shops, it ended up that no one had the piece, so I picked up a set of Deore brake arms for about $20. I probably should've asked the place I got the bike from about covering it since the bike is less than a year old, but it was a relatively small cost and I didn't really care. Hopefully the Shimano stuff is a little better than the Promax that came stock.
Doesn't Promax focus on the BMX market anyway?
