:p It's just a little frost, honest. :) I rode to work in it, it was fine.
As far as the route, there's no reason in the world that it shouldn't be ridable, assuming we don't get a lot of NEW snow. I ride in the area all the time, the worst I have to look out for is sand and gravel left over on the shoulders and bike lanes.
Yeah I figure we will just have to be careful with the sand/salt stuff. :)

I'll drive it tomorrow (heck I may end up riding it tomorrow). And b is right, it'll be a dirty ride, but hopefully mostly snow-free.

Just a thought, I'm sure it will be fine but has anyone checked the route out to make sure it is ride-able? :D
Better yet - has everyone checked their bikes? I know mine has been in a closet for two months and who nows what shape the tires and tubes are in... might be the excuse I need to hit the LBS for a new pair of Gatorskins...
See you all on Sunday.
Thanks Snowy for the organization! Nice job.

......
Mine has had MAYBE 4 days off, TOTAL since I bought it in June of last year. I'm pretty sure it's up for it. :p Although I could use a new pair of tires... doubtful I'll get them this weekend, though... They moved my Performance... now instead of about 2 miles they're like 15 away. :(
Edit: Ok... it's only 10 miles... that's still a lot farther. *sighs* Guess I'll check some other places for prices. I need a new back wheel soon, too.

Which one moved?
I wish I could get the route slip to work. Kinda wanna know where I'm going. All my bike will not be 100% as I am still running a short cage derailleur with a triple crank. I have my small ring locked out but still.....not all my gears I have one coming but it wont be here till monday or tuesday.

On this ride you won't need the granny... When you say the slip... are you saying the link won't work? I hit it last night and it worked fine. Do you see anything?

Performance. It used to be less than 3 miles and I'd ride there whenever I needed something... now it's 10, though I could probably make a nice ride of it, if I really wanted to.

A route slip is a sheet with turn by turn directions... if the route doesn't have turns entered on it, we can't print a route slip, the best you can do is try to print the map in a usable form.
EDIT: I copied the route and added the turns, check it here: http://www.routeslip.com/map.php?map=20951&
Just for this special occasion of getting on my road bike I'm buying some new knickers :)
See everyone Sunday!!!
It just says "Loading... Please wait." I don't know what gives.
Ummm.....I think our group is going to be a bit larger. :D I mentioned the ride to a few (5 lol) of my Karate friends and they seemed pretty excited about it. Hope its still ok with you. The more the merrier right?

What browser are you using and how tight do you have the security settings and/or extensions? If you're using Firefox with NoScript or something similar you'll have to allow the page. And I'm sure there are IE settings that you can tighten up to the point that it won't work anymore.

I didn't add turn-by-turn because the route is simple: We head up to 32nd from Sloan's Lake, take 32nd out to Golden, turn left to go up to the judicial center, and turn around....

ok, the weather report is still looking good. PM me for my phone number in case there are last minute changes, but as of right now, we're a GO GO GO!
(okay, so I still have to drive the route, but I trust it with this week's warmth)

Tried pulling it up at work and it stalled at "Please wait - Loading"
Reset the security levels on IE to the default - (Medium) and it loaded fine.
You might check those settings if you are still having trouble.

Bad news:
I was on my way to the store with my wife and we went past Supercuts.... she said I should go in and get a haircut, that "It'll make you faster on the ride tomorrow" .... so I did. And now my hair is nice 'n short, and I'm ready to go.
Watch out! :p
Another funny thing... I stopped in the bike shop and was talking to one of the employees... we started talking about the weather, and I said I hoped it would hold out for tomorrow, I had a bike ride... he said he had one, too, and that they were meeting at 12:30 ..... me: "Oh, Where are ya meeting?" him: "21st and Stuart" me: "Hi, I'm Bill, we're riding together tomorrow!" :) :) :)

Ahh - didn't make it out to that one much.
I'm only a few blocks from Campus Cycles and Denver Spoke, so they are my first stop most of the time.
Looks like yet another beautiful day in Colorado - time to go get the bike preped and the bike rack on the car...
See you all a bit later.
Can't wait it looks to be a beautiful day!! See ya all soon.
FYI, its snowing in the mountains just got back. Sooo glad its not in Denver. :)

Hey,
I just wanted to say that toay's ride was pretty great. Seeing sun, snow and moutains all during the same ride was a blast. Hats off to the 2 Bills for riding so strong on those fully loaded commuter bikes/ tanks. And to pwnt and Superdex's gf for doing such a good job on just their 2nd road ride. I look forward to more group riding with y'all.
FWIW, I have an excellent book called, "Road Biking Colorado" that has a bunch of scenic rides of varying difficulty. Some of the rides are in the Front Range area and there are many more scattered throughout the state. I volunteer myself to organize a group ride before June.

It was a great ride! Me AND my tank had a great time! :p Look forward to the next ride.
I have that book, too! Looks like some great rides in it. :)
Edit: Wait, I don't have that one... mine is 'Road Biking Colorado's Front Range' and all the roads are in the Front Range. :) It's still a good book!
Man did I have a good time. Even the crash was a fun (Fallover). Glad to get it outta the way. I couldn't have wished for a better group to ride with. All the different strengths and abilities was really a pleasure as well. I would ride with anyone of you anytime. Just give me a holla! :D
Thanks Snowy for organizing it! You rock!
Let's get the next one going!!!!

Thanks for the ride folks. We have to do that again soon. Next time I will eat more than a brownie for breakfast and actually pack some food. Completely bonked at the end. My head still hurts. It was great riding with everyone. Sorry about my noisy bike, I can only plead laziness for not working on it lately. And it wasn't my first fall of the season (thanks icy bike path) but it was pretty embarassing.
Here are the pix I took (warning they are very big):

Thanks everyone for joining in on the ride. It was great meeting everyone :)
Next ride will be in discussion soon. :)

Dang you people for having fun without me! :p
How were the temps? Thornton was around 55-60F yesterday when I took my son on a ride. The further west we rode the colder it seemed to get.
Count me in next time. :)
Data,
The temps were great. We finished about 3:30 or so. It was nice the whole way!!
Please join us next time. :)

BTW, I had to get back to the family, we had a sick 2.5 year old all weekend so while I would have loved to finish the ride with you guys, after riding 2.5 hours on Saturday, I needed to get back home and give momma a break, so having the ride go by so close to my house worked out perfectly, thanks again,

I can answer with complete confidence that neither of the women pictured are single. You're too young anyway.
Yep not single :) I have a feeling a mountain biker guy would put a good fight for me :)
Ahhh bummer.
Well looks like you all had fun. Maybe next time it'll be a group MTB ride. :)
I wanna see that mystery girl's mtb skills.
Hey all
bmclaughlin807 has some news to share with us all.
I think he got the Triple By-Pass bug!!! :)
